"Have A Heart" originated with an 8-year-old girl's desire to help women and children in need. In 2001, Rudy Hazen, a resident of Whitehall and a student at Dance Workshop by Shari, became inspired to collect necessary articles to assist her church's outreach mission. That desire to help others, coincided with Dance Workshop's philosophy of "Dancing for A Difference™, and the "Have A Heart" benefit shows were born. These shows were joyous celebrations of song and dance, featuring the Dance Workshop dancers, but also community youth groups. From 2001 – 2009, approximately $24,000 was donated to various charities, along with hundreds of pounds of non-perishable food items.
From 2001 - 2009, we have raised approximately $24,000 plus thousands of pounds of donated non-perishable food with this event.
